Happy Thanksgiving !

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thankful for you and your support!

The smell of cold winter air is slowly beginning to seep into our old autumn days. Warming up for Thanksgiving, all our families are cooking delicious dishes to fill up our stomachs. However, we’re not here to talk about mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. We’re here to spark some ideas for a somewhat elegant outfit in which you can comfortably enjoy any festivities you might have in plan for today and the rest of the weekend.

As a custom, many people choose a warm palette for their outfits to mimic the autumnal image of colorful leaves. Perhaps you already know, but we love to come up with more unconventional ideas and put our own twist on holiday outfits.

Since we live in the desert, we don’t have to worry about freezing temperatures for Thanksgiving, but this specific outfit could also be modified for colder weather. Francesca chose a long black dress with a red floral print, pleated skirt and sleeves. In this case, to make your outfit warmer, you could incorporate a black turtleneck underneath. You could also include a black jacket if you’re not a fan of undershirts, however, the pleated sleeves would not have the same effect. Similarly, you can substitute the black sneakers for black heeled boots in order to stay warmer. The accessories are our main pop of color that brings a twist to the outfit. With an indigo statement belt and matching long earrings, we contrasted the red on the dress and drew attention to a bolder way of color mixing instead of the usual matching of yellows and oranges. Lastly, since an indigo purse would have been too much for the contrast we wanted, we decided on a gold bag that matches the details on the belt.
