Today, as we were saying, is going to be a very exciting day for us Romanians. Although our generation seems to forget how important it is to show your respect towards such a beautiful country, we decided to create a more modern outfit which still expresses the spirit of 1st of December.
The skirt in this picture is one that I made from this gorgeous material I found, which matched the Romanian motifs. I added a twist by wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a simple white shirt, instead the embellished, traditional shirt called “ie”. I hope the joy will reach out to everyone, and you Romanian peeps (I would say you can celebrate it no matter what nationality you are) will let your creativity flow, recreating our national outfits.
Fun Fact: In the history of Romania, the national day switched around a couple times starting from the 10th of May, in the end being settled on this remarkable date, the 1st of December.
