As promised in our last outfit post, we are back with a new outfit involving a similar SOCIETY jacket. However, as much as we put accent on the same clothing item, the outfit here transmits a completely different vibe from our former one. For example, in this look you will find yourself in a more street style zone rather than a dainty, floral one.
First of all, we decided to continue giving layering advice. As a matter of fact, this outfit is perfect for chilly days because of how cozy and warm it is. The first layer is a fairly light blue dress which is, in a way, trying to resemble a denim type of material. On top of that, I have an oversized white sweatshirt.
One reason why I chose this sweatshirt is because the pink writing in the front takes the outfit from a dominant white/blue palette to an agreement with the color explosion on the jacket. As a final layer, I used one of the formerly mentioned Genes Society denim jacket because I felt the need for a LITERAL splash of color. Lastly, I wanted to note that in comparison to our last post, due to the many layers, I chose to have a neutral color for shoes in order to avoid creating an overwhelming outfit.
As you can well see, it’s not extremely difficult to completely change the vibe of an outfit while still using the clothing piece on which you built your outfit upon. In other words, what I just stated is the key to shifting from one style to another: choose one clothing item that you love and incorporate it in looks that have opposite aesthetics. This way, you can practice shifting from casual to elegant to bold and so on.
