80’s for a Sweet Sixteen

Sixteen seems like the IT age for a high schooler. You get the right to drive, the sense for more freedom and if you’re lucky enough, a bomb party. Well, out of the three, the last one is what I got so far.

With hot pink balloons and colorful streamers, I walked into the age of 16 with ‘80s vibes. Glitter and color were the key elements of the party and we couldn’t have been any happier with the result. Of course, for two fashion bloggers, it was hard not to coordinate my outfit with the decor; thus, we went for a retro look

First, knowing it would be cold for a backyard party, we chose to layer glitter on glitter. The central piece, the green sequined t-shirt, has a frontal patch which matched the retro theme we wanted. Additionally, the black and silver bodysuit acted as an undergarment which made the chromatic link between the t-shirt and the black block heeled high heels. To make the outfit more ‘80s style, we decided to pair the upper part of the outfit with a pair of flare jeans. And last but not least, we used the silver hoop earrings to add that “cherry on top” which completely brought the vintage vibe we were looking for.
